When Zali First Arrived…

This was Zali when I met her for the very first time, arriving at the Melbourne airport from Cladaghring Labradors in Kenthurst NSW in January 2015. It was so exciting seeing her arrive in her bright green crate having never met her before. Seeing her beautiful little face arriving to a total stranger and thinking of the trust that they have to put into us to care, protect and love them for the rest of their life. How lucky are we to be given the opportunity.

Part of a poem called 'If Only They Could Speak' written by Shay Kelly I think says it perfectly...

Their life is based on chance
A roll of the dice
Live with someone horrid
Or live with someone nice

Dogs depend on us
And what we choose to give
How we meet their needs
Decides how happily they live

I believe that we share our lives with dogs, rather than we’re their owner. We are their family and their guardian, for life. It is our privilege to be able to live life with them and we should ensure that their lives are always filled with enrichment each and every day.

Zali & Co was born in November 2020 as we want to be able to help dogs be able to live their best lives full of enrichment through their human families. Through our own experiences we also want to be there for families who have lost furry loved ones too. We are with you on the entire life journey with your dogs.
